      The key tasks to be undertaken will include: ► Review previous activities of rainwater harvesting (including runoff/run-on systems for farming, tree planting, water collection and conservation-based activities in semi-arid and arid lands) that have been carried out in Kenya ► Workings with the DSGs in the district to identify areas that have good potential (based on socio-cultural, land slopes, soils, and rainfall) for rainwater harvesting-based projects. ► Delineate watersheds boundaries of the identified catchment areas, undertake conservation plans and supervise their implementation. ► Together with other district based partners, consult with the community leaders and their communities on the most appropriate food security interventions/projects that can be undertaken in their areas focusing, but not limited to, RWH for the specific areas. ► Work with partners to develop project proposals for the implementation of the proposed interventions,. ► Working through the DSG and with the DMO, relevant GoK departments in the area and other development partners, design appropriate programmes in integrating food security, climate change and alternative livelihood programmes ► Develop actionable work plans for implementation of FFA activities. ► Develop appropriate partnerships (with GoK, NGOs, CBOs) for the efficient and effective implementation of the projects. ► Present the project proposals for necessary approval through the relevant structures ► Undertake capacity building of communities on ,identification, planning and implementation of the identified technologies ► Working with partners, mobilize, organize and supervise communities working on FFA project activities ► Supervise and carry out joint monitoring and reporting of the implementation of FFA projects Write relevant reports on the project implementation milestones, work quality and progress Show less
