In my current role, I work mainly on the Static Unit in the Royal South Hants Hospital in Southampton, doing more complex MRI examinations on the GE Explorer such as brain tumour following ups, MRCPS, lump identification, Fistulas, Gynaecology MRI and MSK. I also help manage the units work load and contracts to maintain an efficient work flow and patient output while delivering a high quality service. There is also a bi-monthly CT mobile service which I help manage and ensure it runs smoothly. I also help out in CT (carry out exams such as sinuses, mandibles, brains, MSK, urograms, chest/abdomen/pelvis, CTPAs, etc) when needed and help teach the Radiographers how to use the new Toshiba Aquilion scanner. Previously with the same company I worked on both CT and MRI mobile sites mostly within 2 hours of my home. In MRI I have worked on GE Explorer, 360, HDX, NEMR, Siemens Avanto, Symphony and the 3T Aera scanner. In CT I have worked on GE 16 and 64 slice mobile scanners and Toshiba Aquilion CT scanners. As a Senior Radiographer, it is my role to lead the day and help teach other new members of staff how the Alliance systems work and help them as best as I can and support the mobile team. I was a lead for one of the hospital sites we visit and in charge of one the mobile Avanto scanners the company owns. I enjoyed these roles as it helped improve my management skills and made me feel more connected to the company.

I was trained in both CT (completed 3 months) and MRI (3 months training) in order to work on the on call rota. The training involved rotation through both departments. From MRI to General CT, Portable CT Brain scanner, CT Neuro scanner, CT oncology scanner and the CT emergency scanner (for on call and casualty/trauma). I have worked with GE and Siemens’ CT scanners and Siemens’ Aera MRI scanners (1.5T and 3T).

I have experience in General X-Ray, Minor Theatre Radiography, Trauma, Casualty, Mobile Radiography, CT (help with examinations and setup contrast pumps and equipment for examinations).I was in charge of quality assurance checks on the General and Mobile Radiography equipment. Also I was the nominated fire officer for the department. I trained for the out of hours work (rota). I work night shifts and weekend shifts by myself in the department and was trained in CT Brain and Neck examinations which are needed while on call and can perform them alone.Due to staff shortages in the hospital I was given a lot more training and responsibility in CT which I greatly enjoyed. I carried out CT brains, sinuses and necks unassisted and also helped set up and perform other examinations assisted with a fully qualified CT Radiographer. I have assisted and carried out CT chest (normal and high resolution) exams, CT abdomen, chest and pelvis exams, CTPAs, calcium scores, extremity work, CT colons, and urinary tract examinations.Have experience using iDose Philips technology and O-MAR (Metal Artefact Reduction for Orthopaedic Implants).

Bought medications for all the McKay Pharmacies. Built my own excel database that allows the company to track what has been purchased, at what price and the profit margin obtained. Sell unused medications via the internet on Rxchange using the company's wholesale license. Updated the company's online lifeandlooks site. Ran and updated the company's Affiliate Window online business, which allows other sellers to sell our products and in return they receive a commission. Since I took over this section of the business, the company has been voted as a "star performer" and the company has moved up 70+ places in the health and beauty sector. Built databases via excel for company projects and provide comparison databases which enable the company to find out which suppliers they should use for each medication (ethical and generic medicines).
