Stephen is a very intelligent, hard working analyst. He is very efficient and asks clear and concise questions on reporting requests. Stephen is always willing to share his knowledge and help out when asked. He is quite knowledgeable in Qlikview and creates great dashboards and reports - often anticipating what the client really wants. He is good with automation and seeks to prevent repetitive work when it is deemed worth the time to automate. He is very easy to manage and can be relied on to complete every project within time scope, if not sooner. Stephen loves continued learning and will gladly throw himself into learning a new tool or data source. I would highly recommend Stephen, and hope that one day we can work together again.

Business Intelligence Developer Build user-friendly dashboards to provide managers with self-service access to data tables, charts, and graphs presenting relevant and timely information about business activities. This is accomplished with various BI software, SQL queries, regular expressions, etc. I am the SME and server administrator for one of the BI programs we use, and am in the process of learning others. In 2016 I also began using related software to automate the delivery of files to people versus having people export data from dashboards. Humans still use the dashboards for ad hoc needs that come up, including frontline teams taking calls from customers. The administrative side of the work involves managing the dashboards on the server for which I'm the administrator. The server administration tasks involve optimizing scripts and processes as needed, scheduling automated jobs, processing software updates, and managing user access. Back in 2013 there were almost daily issues of instability that tapered off to yearly issues last reported in 2017. So the server I manage has been stable for several years now. (2016 just had residual tweaks and tidying after a server migration activity that went beautifully, and 2017 was just a momentary outage related to network maintenance. :)) Sr. Reporting Analyst Assemble complex ad hoc reports and cohort analysis for client-specific reporting needs. Often involves pulling together various data files and database sources with help from Qlikview. I have a decade of experience with Excel and often find ways to translate manual Excel processes to automated business intelligence application processes and have both processes yield the same results. I also provide other reports and dashboards to help managers see the sources of and address bad data that sometimes gets into the database. Beyond that, I provide training and work to enable colleagues and end users to easily access and evaluate the data independently. Show less

Enabled and executed the first lift analysis for book promotions back in 2007. Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in reconciling invoice variances or auditing receipts. Communication hub for 100+ stores in the field with regards to point of sale scanning and certain warehouse receiving issues. Show less

One time I setup a good market analysis spreadsheet for an apartment complex based on information I collected by calling other apartment complexes. Lots of reception work, faxing, copying, file organizing. I was bad at making coffee, so they took that task back. Managed 15 full and part time employees. Maintained lowest shortage percent in store, and below average shortage in the company. Consistently exceeded sales goals via diligent movement of stock from highly organized stockrooms to clean-kept sales floors. Ranked in the top 2 or 3 managers at our store, and our store was in the top 1% in the company on this metric. (Hecht's would have been acquiring Macy's if the other stores had kept up with ours.) Sponsored and trained one sales manager, helped train another manager, and facilitated the promotions of other employees. Show less
