As a member of the core leadership team, I oversee pedagogical functionality and the classroom user experience for Litmus Learn, a rapidly growing startup bringing blended learning to schools in the US and beyond. In my role, I leverage my 20 years of classroom teaching, union leadership, and educational policy advocacy to communicate the benefits of Litmus Learn to teachers, parents, and school districts in a way that maximizes students success through teacher efficiency. In our current phase of growth, I'm actively cultivating relationships with school administrators and teachers, along with research partners, nonprofit and venture enterprises working in the education sector to build and scale Litmus in a way that captures momentum, facilitates growth, and onboards users with minimal friction. I oversee Litmus Learn's messaging, marketing, and multichannel outreach efforts across all platforms Litmus Learn is a fully-integrated blended learning platform designed to empower teachers and engage students. I apply proven strategies to grow and market my husband Ángel's boutique floral design shop in Boston, and servicing the Greater Boston area. Using a mutli-channel marketing strategy, I've created and implemented a growth plan for the business that prioritizes returning customers, sets up an online brand presence, and optimizes unearned media for conversion. Using actionable data, we have emphasized visual marketing materials on Facebook and Instagram, doubling our follower count on Facebook and tripling on Instagram Leveraging Ángel's creative process, we are rolling out an increased presence on TikTok, with videos and tutorials that expand our reach to a younger, professional demographic Translating our customer satisfaction into positive online brand awareness, we have increased the number of Google Reviews for the business and currently hold a five star rating with several dozen reviews, both in English and in Spanish Implementing a cohesive email marketing campaign, I have planned and created a series of variegated customer lists that receive targeted materials on a set timeframe. Using data insights from our Email Marketing efforts, I have increased our open rates by 125%, click-through rates by double, and conversion rates by 75% Based on HubSpot's models of Inbound Marketing and customer education, I have created and published content through The Centerpiece Flower Shop's website, leading to an increase in unique visitors, and a corresponding increase in foot traffic into the retail storefront As a certified minority business owner by the City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I've helped Ángel promote, both in English and Spanish, his life story, immigrant experience, and bi-lingual and multicultural acuity for his customers as pillars of his brand Using Canva, Google Analytics, Hana POS, HubSpot Academy, and social media channels, I've developed a workflow for marketing campaigns that can be customized and adjusted rapidly Show less

As a member of the Leadership Corps of The Examined Life, I recruit new participants, develop curriculum and programming, and foster the teaching of the legacy of ancient Greece in schools. I prepare and deliver seminars for educators participating in the ExL graduate course, and give on-site lectures during a study tour of Greece, including on the subjects of archaeology, mythology, and ancient history education. Every year, I prepare and lead an evening program for all ExL participants in the Greek galleries of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This includes spotlighting specific artifacts, speaking to the archaeology and historiography of ancient Greece, and helping fellow educators incorporate objects from the MFA’s collection into their teaching practices. Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Classical Studies Currently teaching Topics in Greek and Roman History - "The Peoples of Ancient Italy: Etruscans, Romans, and Magna Graecia" for a mixed class of undergraduate and graduate students The course will give students a broad view of the major civilizations that flourished on the Italian peninsula between about 900 BC and 400 AD - the Etruscans, the Romans, and the Greek settlements of Magna Graecia. After developing a firm historical foundation of the major phases and events that mark each, we will examine the daily lives of the ancient people of Italy and how their experiences come to us through the historical record. We will make a point to consider class, identity, gender, sex, and enslavement as part of how we examine these civilizations. Students are expected to be critical thinkers, and curious practitioners of history - approach the material with an open mind and lots of questions! Aside from the content knowledge of ancient Italy, there are several themes that run through the course. Students should consider how we know what we know about the ancient world, and the ways that historiography and modern interpretations can affect the way we view ancient peoples. We will see that the larger context of each civilization is an essential part of understanding how it developed and grew, and how cultural exchange was a fundamental element of ancient Italy. Finally, we will consider how geography, location, and climate are all factors that shape how societies are structured, and how they interact with the larger Mediterranean world and beyond.
