Feb 2016 - Jan 2018
Responsible for the application review and the designing of fluid management assemblies for our bioprocessing -- single use product line.Worked directly with customers to develop custom single-use bioprocessing manifolds and oversaw the product lifecycle from concept to manufacturing release. Authored validation protocols and performed functional testing for custom single-use manifolds and pH sensors. Headed sensor and manifold investigations to determine root cause of failed customer product . Spearheaded technology transfer of recent pH sensing technology acquisition by leading technology review sessions, performing validation testing, and working with a cross functional team to create new form factors. Performed periodic review of released manufacturing documents to ensure alignment with inventory system which led to preventative actions to correct and ultimately reduce lead time for the customer. Coordinated efforts with cross-functional team to define specifications and sourcing for new assembly components. Initiated, reviewed, and headed document control requests for three different life science product lines. Show less

Research Engineer - Soft Tissue Biomechanics Laboratory
-
Jun 2014 - Jan 2016
Directed a team of undergraduate and high school students to achieve research objectives for three government grants totaling over one million dollars in funding. Characterized the mechanical behavior of human ocular tissue by utilizing 3D non-contact optical techniques to capture deformations through a range of pressure states and calculating stresses and strain with custom MATLAB programs. Designed a bioreactor capable of performing long-term biomechanical studies of human ocular tissue. Developed a tissue detection algorithm for a laser scanning device which allowed for the fully automated scanning of 32 histology slides leading to a 25% decrease in process time versus manually scanning. Built macros in Excel to automate sorting of human donor ophthalmological records. Developed MATLAB programs to perform digital image processing and statistical analysis on large data sets. Maintained and repaired both testing devices and laboratory equipment Show less
