I joined MWI in 2018, taking over website management, design and marketing through social media. As MWI’s needs change, so have my roles with the company, and in Dec 2020 I was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. I am now primarily responsible for provider scheduling, communication with contract partners, and most things IT-related including the website and social media presence, Google Calendar, online booking, and Square scheduling. I take the lead on tracking operational tasks, keeping the team focused on taking ownership of the company’s success, and daily applying my determination to continue to push MWI in the direction of growth and professionalism. Summit Lake Lodge, a 3100-square-foot lakeside home in Southwest Minnesota, was owned and managed by me while we lived in Kansas and overseas while my husband was in the Air Force. I managed online bookings and communication with guests through vrbo.com and our website. I valued communicating with our upcoming guests to help them feel comfortable, provided them with information related to their stay, and answered any questions they had. Managing the business from a great distance was challenging, but we were fortunate to have a consistent housekeeper and my parents lived near our home and were able to greet guests in person and be the "boots on the ground".
