  Responsible for the spectrum of internal operational matters for the trade union, encompassing national finances, human resources, public relations and administration.*Overall strategic direction in terms of member recruitment has led to growth in membership from 64 000 (in 2008), to over 108 000 members in 2020.*Overseeing the achievement of an unqualified audit of the Union’s books for the past number of years (external Auditors Deloitte).

  Reporting to the General Secretary (CEO) and National Executive Council of the Union being responsible for all National collective bargaining matters with the National Employer’s Body (SALGA) through the South African Local Government Bargaining Council (SALGBC) on behalf of members countrywide. Management of Regional offices in respect of their legal representation of members in local workplaces (257 municipalities in South Africa).

  Managing the Pretoria Regional Office of IMATU in respect of labour relations services to 8000 members, the finances of the Region including annual external audit, recruitment of members, growing the Union’s internal loan book (loans to members).

  Representing municipal trade union members in grievances, disciplinary hearings, conciliations, and arbitrations over the spectrum of labour relations matters in the employment context.
