When the time came to hand over Operation UEA, Steph was the natural choice. She's talented, feisty and determined, and had been contributing to the society more than anyone else involved. I was disappointed when she revealed that she was going to the US for a year and wouldn't be able to assume the presidency. However, regardless of location, Steph continued to contribute diligently. It didn't matter that she was in a different time-zone; she still participated more than anyone else. So when I found out that she would be assuming the presidency upon her return, I was delighted. There was no one more suited to the role, as Steph had doggedly proved. I feel confident handing over such a huge responsibility to Steph. She has the inspiration, the motivation and the wherewithal to make things happen, and I trust her completely. I have no doubts that Operation UEA will flourish under her presidency, and I look forward to seeing what she brings to it now that she has free reign.
