I was the leader of the contemporary worship service of Trinity Lutheran Church and led weekly on acoustic guitar. I was also responsible for music team development and growth. I prepared the songs in Proclaim software for weekly services and keep up to date on popular Christian music. It's important to me that each member of my team is using their musical gifts and growing in them week by week through thorough practices. We usually practice for a few hours at a time. I also am a strong proponent of developing positive relationships with my team so that we can really create a sense of togetherness. I was the worship leader of the contemporary service in charge of planning music for weekly service, team building and development. During this time I built the team from only a handful of people to a full team of musicians and singers. I additionally felt led to start a youth band so I had an open call to all interested youth. Many had no experience playing with a band outside of school so I worked diligently with them to improve their skills and learn to be part of a worship team. Additionally, I was in charge of overseeing purchasing of equipment (i.e microphones) and making sure things were running smoothly in the sound department.
