KOCH Institute-Langer Lab-Jaklenec Group: Developed a pulse-release vaccine, comprised of antigen-containing core-shell particles to facilitate pediatric immunizations in developing world circumstances in which repeated patient access is problematic • Developed stable self-boosting vaccine formulations for inactivated polio virus (IPV) and T. Solium18 vaccine (TSOL18) at clinically relevant schedules • Systematically studied the stability of the vaccines at particle fabrication, storage, and post-administration conditions in vitro through developing and optimizing in-house ELISA assays specific to each vaccine • Tested immune response of single-injected, IPV-loaded particles in rats, and TSOL18-loaded particles in mice and pigs also using these in-house-developed ELISA assays • Worked in collaboration with the Barouch lab (Harvard) to test and optimize the stability and pulsatile release of various HIV vaccine loaded core-shell particles both in vitro and in mice. The various HIV vaccines include Ad-vector base, DNA-based, and antigen-based vaccines. •Evaluated micronutrient stability using analytical iron assays as part of a micronutrient-encapsulation project.
