Working in the food service industry has taught me a number of important lessons that can relate in any job. I started in this industry when I was 15 years old, working in two restaurants as a hostess and then a waitress when I got to college. My next step was catering. Each job put me in many difficult situations with customer service. I was able to learn to work with people effectively by learning ways to make ends meet with both parties. Specifically with Weir Catering and Associates, we work with event planning and fine dining services. I love this job because it gives me the opportunity to work with people, which is what I love to do! Show less

    • Research Intern
      • May 2014 - Aug 2014

At KRON4 news I used my research and reporting skills to provide background information on current and upcoming stories. I wrote summaries of each story that was covered every day for the reporters, producers, and directors. In addition to answering phones and managing our story tip line, I went on various assignments with the reporters and helped them with their stories. • Equipment Technician
      • Jan 2014 - May 2014

As an equipment technician I catalogued over 300 pieces of equipment, which included: live backpacks, vehicles, and other necessary accessories. I evaluated the condition of the equipment and addressed the repairs to the engineering facilities. In addition, I submitted hourly inventory updates.

    • Front Office Administrator
      • Aug 2013 - Dec 2013

As front office administrator, I was responsible for handling all incoming phone calls, press releases, and relaying important information from all sources to the newsroom staff. I managed all our social media accounts, as well as, local police scanners and Highway Patrol crash reports. My most important role was to facilitate communication between producers and reporters on the scene, while gathering information on upcoming stories.

    • News Anchor/Reporter
      • Aug 2012 - May 2013

As an anchor and reporter at MU's campus news station, I was given an introduction to news reporting in college. I reported on various stories around campus. Each story was unique in that it ranged from political segments, to hard news issues that related to students on campus. I conducted research on controversial issues facing students I interviewed and incorporated it into our our newscasts. My secondary role was to co-anchor our daily and nightly news programs. • Staff Assistant
      • Dec 2012 - Jan 2013

I worked as a staff assistant for Adrienne Tissier's office in the Board of Supervisors. This position gave me the chance to develop a wide range of office skills. I was involved in everything from answering phones and emails to drafting monthly newsletters and fundraising proposals. I really got to advance my writing skills and work out campaign strategies that would successfully connect with the constituents of District 5.
