I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie Kinane at Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO), where she was our on-site Interstate Batteries, Category Manager. As a category manager she analyzed complex consumption data collected from limited sources, concisely translating it into meaningful information to our Executive Team. Stephanie’s work quickly provided a way of optimizing our manual reporting and providing our stores with the products that our consumers required on the shelf. She worked diligently to ensure that Interstate’s products are not only occupying as much of the shelf space as possible, but that they also placed in the most beneficial parts of the shelves. Stephanie excelled as a category manager, always willing to work with the limited raw data pulls BSRO offered and gracefully organizing material information to maximize the company’s profit from selling Interstate Batteries (and its Starting & Charging category outside her immediate role). She was the solely responsible for BSRO's 2200 retail stores, running on outdated operations systems, offering little functionality, or compatibility with our outside vendors. Although technology inflicted her productivity, she become a super user able to easily overcome the hindrance she encountered by our on-site contractors. She quickly acquired the business acumen required for the position, building trust and strong customer-facing relationships, through her analytics and dedication to dissecting the insight. Stephanie exemplifies a competitive nature that thrives on being responsible for performance and curiosity for understanding shopper behavior, with the capability of communicating her findings with ease to the stakeholders.
