It’s my pleasure to enthusiastically recommend Stephanie Owens as a skilled digital artist and diligent, personable, and professional member of any team. Stephanie joined Foundry 45 to assist with a five month project that had tight deadlines and high expectations. It was a joy seeing her jump right in and start making substantial contributions right off the bat. It’s clear she cares both about the quality of her work and the overall goals of the team. Her largest effort with Foundry 45 was around environment design and environmental art creation, and the results of her work were fantastic. Furthermore, her solid people skills meant it was always both productive and pleasant to talk with her. She consistently communicated her progress and blockers, and wasn’t afraid to take ownership of a task or problem and run with it. In summary, I hope I have the pleasure of working with Stephanie again in the future!

Stephanie is a fantastic asset to any creative team. She performed 3D modeling, optimization, texturing, and platform implementation on a project where we recreated intense adventure environments for virtual reality. She not only did a great job at recreating these environments, but she included extra details to ensure the space was immersive for our client. These extra details included environmental objects, visual effects, and interactive items. This project required her to learn a new platform and she picked these new skills up quickly. While much of her learning was self-taught, she was also not afraid to ask questions and learn from other more experienced members of the team. Stephanie is a great communicator and would always relay status updates and scheduling challenges in a timely manner. I look forward to working with Stephanie again in the future.

Working remotely with a team of 10 spread across different countries, we developed a training simulation for the VIVE Focus 3 system. Communication was a key factor to the success of the project. We had daily team standups to communicate status updates, utilized Slack for quick needs throughout the day and hopped into meetings as needed to discuss new or ongoing Clickup tasks. We also used Sourcetree to manage integrating new work into the project. I worked closely with another artist to create an urban environment and helped with other project needs, including basic character rigging, creating cutscene and dialogue images, finding and integrating audio, and working in Character Creator 3 to develop characters and integrate them into Unity. Some of my tasks included: environment design, world-building, texturing assets / editing character textures, creating decals (rust, dirt, stains, graffiti, etc), character creation and rigging, environment optimizations, and 3D modeling. Worked directly with the CEO, CTO, and XR Design Advisor to provide art assets for use in VR, utilizing Unity to build out environments for Oculus Quest. My tasks included 3D modeling of assets including terrain and props, texturing, world-building, collision creation, optimizing models and textures for use with VR platforms, and assessing art needs to convey to the team for approval before implementation. Environment Artist

Jan 2020 - May 2020
Zoélie is an Action Puzzle Platformer that tells the story of a young girl exploring her town of La Colina alongside her imagination-powered quilt, Sueño. I worked with a team of 44 other developers as one of the environment artists for this game during nineteen weeks of development. Half of the development period was remote work, using Perforce, Discord, and Zoom to coordinate virtually. As an environment artist, I helped my team set dress both the city and beach levels, created 3D models, textured assets, edited collisions, and iteratively play-tested the game. This game is shipped on Steam. We entered it into The Rookies and won "Game of the Year: Finalist", "Game of the Year: Highly Commended", and "Draft Selection" awards. It also won 1st place "Best Gameplay" at the 2021 Intel University Games Showcase and was featured in Epic Games' Spring 2021 Student Showcase. Show less
