  Dispatcher/SCHOOL BUS DRIVER • ROCKFORD AREA SCHOOLS • 9/2012 - CURRENT As a school bus driver the most important area of focus on a daily basis is ensuring the safety anywhere from 50-70 children riding my bus. This is through the following practices: • Implementing bus safety protocol • Ensuring adherence to bus safety protocol • Building trusted relationships with each child – allowing me to “get through” to each of them at an individual level • Building relationships with the parents of my riders as necessary to ensure safety protocol adherence • Perform Pre-trip safety checks before every route • Perform post trip walk through to ensure every child has safely made it to their destination • Communicate to my riders and hold them accountable for appropriate behavior on the bus to ensure their safety Show less
