      I undertook two weeks of work experience with TG Baynes in July 2015. My first week was spent in the Probate team where I was able to assist in preparing LPA forms, registering wills online, witnessing wills, attending appointments regarding Lasting Power of Attorney, Will and Probate and completing general office duties. In my second week I had a seat in Civil Litigation and Employment teams. I was able to assist with taking notes in client meetings, assisting with writing witness statements, debt recovery and dealing with cases involving unfair dismissals, employment contracts and settlement agreements. At the end of my work experience I was asked to stay on to work part time in the office, undertaking admin tasks such as opening and closing client files, billing, filing and making telephone calls.

However, as part of my employment I also took an NVQ Level 3 in Herbal Medicine and was able to advise customers on remedies to treat a variety of ailments, including arthritis, menopause and acne. This required constant training and research to ensure I could speak knowledgably and provide accurate advice. I feel it really helped my confidence so that I was able to approach and assist customers and to support them at times when they could sometimes feel awkward or embarrassed and to provide them with practical support.
