As the Literacy Coach for Carlson Elementary, my essential roles include, but are to limited to: 1. Offering coaching in lesson planning, classroom management, and learning and teaching strategies. 2. Working along side colleagues in the classroom and demonstrating particular teaching skills and strategies. 3. Ensuring assessment support is provided for implementation and data analysis of formative and summative assessments, including M-Step (formally known as MEAP), DIBELS, MLPP, DRA, and QRI. 4. Assisting with the organization and planning of Professional Learning opportunities based on literacy and school improvement needs. 5.Supporting colleagues on integrating and aligning the Common Core State Standards into daily instruction. 6. Collecting and presenting classroom data related to McREL Power Walkthroughs (CITW) 7. Collaboratively working along side Co-School Improvement Team members to establish, plan, monitor, and adjust our School Improvement Goals, Strategies, and activities to best meet the needs of our students. 8. Planning for and supporting Parent Programs related to Carlson's School Improvement Plan. As Carlson's 31a Intervention Specialist, my essential roles include but are not limited to: 1. Establishing, monitoring, and carrying out Carlson's MTSS 31a "at risk" program as a building MTSS Team Leader. 2. Providing specialized in instruction to struggling readers using research based interventions. 3. Evaluating current school intervention efforts in light of what the research establishes as effective practices for "at risk" readers and identify which practices need to be added and/or revised.
