  During my internship at Compania De Minas Buenaventura my primary responsibilities included the construction of geological maps and cross sections of areas under exploration, requiring precision and focus. Additionally, I researched projects that were in the early stages of development for potential joint ventures. This required knowledge of the cost of processes of excavation, removal and processing and the ability to accurately predict the potential profitability of a mine. During my internship, I also spent a week at an open pit mine that primarily produces gold and silver. This enabled me to gain knowledge of the stages and costs of the mining process. During this week my main responsibilities included the construction of lithological logs produced from borehole samples. This is a fundamental stage in the valuation of a mine, as it enables the deduction of the potential ore grade and hence profitability. Show less
