Stephanie came to work with passion and drive, consistently going above and beyond to help colleagues, students and employers. She always looked for ways to make an impact, giving her valuable time and thinking beyond the box. Plus she was an absolute please to work with.

I have had the pleasure to work with Stephanie at Central Park Conservancy. She brings strong donor relationship building and cultivation skills to the table in funding priorities while strategically single handedly managing complex programs to run effectively. She is efficient, a team player, and simply a joy to work with. Any organization would benefit by having her on the team, and it's with pleasure to recommend her.

Based at the Headquarters in Rome, Italy, I worked on several programs in the area of food security policy related to gender empowerment in developing countries. My projects spanned about 80 developing countries, of which I worked in at least a dozen. For one project in particular, I became a UN-trained facilitator to manage gender policy and food security workshops with implementing partners in 60 countries, managing a large budget and a group of facilitators based in 30+ countries over the course of 2 years.

    • Junior Professional Officer/Programme Officer (Bangladesh)
      • Jun 2001 - Jun 2002

I worked at the Bangladesh Country Office of UN-WFP for my first year as a US JPO on several large, long-term hunger alleviation projects throughout Bangladesh, spanning emergency feeding to protracted relief and longer-term development programs. I liaised both with the Bangladeshi government and with local and international NGOs on these projects, and split my work-base between Dhaka and project sites in rural Bangladesh. I managed a nutrition study in the Rohingya refugee camp, whose results proved a link between enhanced household nutrition when ration cards were assigned in the female head of household's name. I also designed and led, with two other JPOs, a monitoring and evaluating study in Bhutan on the WFP-managed national school feeding program.

I formulated research methodology, which I used to evaluate the outcome of a rural microfinance program targeting ultra-poor women by traveling throughout rural Bangladesh for 4 months visiting program beneficiaries. I also evaluated and made recommendations to improve programme effectiveness to Trickle Up's Dhaka-based affiliate NGO. The results of this research formed the basis of my Masters thesis.
