Stephanie and I have worked together for many years. I first met her when I worked for ELS as an Academic Director. One of my teachers was struggling, and we sent him to attend the CELTA training program that Stephanie directed out of Seattle. When he came back to our school a few weeks later, he was a completely different teacher. He was professional, knowledgeable, and confident. Not only did he get some of the highest survey scores from students, but he also went on to become the Academic Director of that school, and then the Center Director, running all operations. It was a true testament to the strength of Stephanie’s training background, skills, and experiences. A few years later, Stephanie and I were both appointed to serve on our company’s Online Learning Committee, a group of senior managers and executives tasked with researching and introducing new online learning activities. Stephanie facilitated innovative focus groups and ideation sessions, conducted market research, created pilot plans, and ultimately helped introduce new software across our North American offices for teachers and students alike. I also worked with Stephanie across several consultative workshops involving employees from all levels and all departments across the company. Stephanie led by example in these situations, adopting an engaged and collaborative mindset, actively listening to her colleagues, and capturing important takeaways that she would bring back to her local office to implement. Despite numerous challenges, either from our consulting partners, her colleagues, or senior management, Stephanie never batted an eye, and instead focused on communicating positively and continuously taking small steps forward to accomplish company goals. It has truly been a pleasure to work with her in these capacities (and more) over the years. I highly recommend her for a position on your team.
