Bio
Prof. Kelvin Willoughby
Dr. Stephane Tywoniak taught the MBA Capstone class ("Strategy and International Business") during my time as Director of the MBA Program at the Curtin Graduate School of Business. Stephane is an artful teacher who manages to enliven the learning experience of students by skillfully linking theory with practical problem solving and insights from real-world cases. He is unusually good at awakening students' interest in business and, more particularly, in the strategic management of organizations. He is able to do this so well because he is both intellectually gifted and rich with empathy towards students. Stephane is an excellent academic: he is inspired by ideas, motivated in his search for knowledge, and energized by sharing his learning with others. However, his ability to make a difference in the educational life of his students draws at least as much upon his practical international experience as a manager and consultant as it does upon his academic expertise. He knows what he is talking about! This gives him the power to communicate well with both experienced executives as well as those starting out on their professional journeys. Dr. Tywoniak is systematic, analytical and cogent in his approach to his work. When he takes on a project he does so thoughtfully, carefully and diligently. He is one of those unusual academics who knows the world of practice as well as the world of theory. He knows how to make things happen. Above all, Stephane Tywoniak is a fine human being with a strong sense of integrity.
Dr. Tim Baker
Stephane has a brilliant grasp of systems thinking and a talent for explaining it clearly to others.
