  Collaborating closely with Sanger Faculty and applying my background knowledge from setting up the high-throughput single cell service group, I am now focusing on developing and implementing the next generation of single cell analysis methods at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute to maintain the Institute's leading edge in this exciting field.

  I am currently setting up a high-throughput pipeline for single cell analysis to support the Sanger Institute's scientific goals of analysing large populations of single cells. In our core facility, we employ integrated microfluidic systems like the Fluidigm C1, acoustic dispensing, conventional flow sorting of single cells and liquid handling robots to deliver thousands of single cell genomes, transcriptomes and epigenomes per day, complemented by a fully automated sample handling, QC and library preparation pipeline.http://www.sanger.ac.uk/science/groups/single-cell-genomics-core-facility Show less

  I am currently developing new single-cell whole genome sequencing methods that incorporate unique molecular identifiers for error correction. This will hopefully increase copy number accuracy and SNV detection. I am also looking into current technologies to isolate, identify and sequence individual cells from complex tissues.
