Stefano Crotti, is a very talented and motivated student, with a great interest in the field of Organic Chemistry. He took the Laurea degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (110/110 cum laude) under my supervision in October 2007. In years 2008-2010 he worked with me as a Ph.D student (School of Graduate studies on Science of Drugs and Bioactive Substances, University of Pisa). In particular, he was involved in the development of new challenging regio- and stereoselective methodologies by the use of small-medium ring heterocycles. In this period, I really appreciated his experimental skill, his enthusiasm for the scientific research, his accuracy, all sustained by a very good knowledge of organic chemistry. Very often, he is able to discuss and to propose valid solutions to the problems he met in developing the not simple research program assigned to him. The results obtained are witnessed by 10 publications in leading journals in the field of synthetic organic chemistry.
