Stefan is een gedreven, hard werkende collega met grote ambitie. Hij is communicatief erg sterk en heeft overtuigingskracht. I have known Stefan Klaassens since the day he started studying Human Technology at the Institute of Engineering, Hanze UAS (Groningen). For example, Stefan has attended several courses given by me in year 1 and year 2. In year 4, as supervisor/lecturer, I supervised him in the research part of his specialisation and during his graduation internship at the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG). The specialisation and the thesis assignment together form the graduation programme. Stefan's graduation project involved the development of a validated interaction design for an application within the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework to register the functioning of patients. This contributes to the emancipation of patients in healthcare, because the patient's functioning will be considered in the treatment. The accompanying research report was both structured and theoretically well-founded. In addition to being a good researcher, Stefan appears to be a strong advisor. Stefan is able to convey a complex story well. What I personally liked in these years was that Stefan developed a certain determination to improve and develop. Even though he sometimes has to step over his own shadow to do so.... Given his qualities, ambitions and learnability, I can only recommend Stefan Klaassens warmly. Richard Vos

During this internship I will be focussing on creating a application based on ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) in which the patient's functioning will be rated. The goal of ICF is to give the patient the lead in the care that he or she will be receiving. In the application that will be created, functional goals are written for individuals and target their ability to participate in daily living environments across settings including home, school, and community. The focus is not on the impairment or disorder but on the participation in activities of daily living. Show less
