As a SHERQT manager, I am tasked with developing and enforcing systems governing site safety, health, environmental, and quality management as well as providing expertise on safety procedures during mine development planning. I assess and define leading and lagging safety performance indicators, implement safety initiatives, arrange emergency drills, and ensure the use of PPE. I supervise the activities of Safety and Training Officers in addition to managing the Integrated Management System, 15 dump trucks, 10 21-ton LHDs, and 12 mine jumbos. Additionally, I inspect physical conditions and perform audits according to ISO 19001, 14001, and 45001 standards as well as facilitate external and governmental audits. My top achievements include: Upskilling employees through the design and launch of a new training centre, assessment of individual training needs, and development of an effective training matrix.
