The structure designed largely in concrete includes 19m span PT concrete transfer beams but also cantilevering central drum teaching spaces designed in steel within a glazed atrium. The Grasshopper add-in to Rhino was used to generate the complex roof structure and to build in the ability to parametrically control the geometry. The scheme also includes extensive external structural works including secant, kingpost, reinforced concrete and gabion retaining walls. Value was added using BIM processes and information sharing between disciplines. Stane Park, Stanway, Colchester – Structural design team lead responsible for delivering construction information for 5 commercial units for a new £12m leisure development of restaurants. Design was carried out working closely with the Architect and Steel Fabricator to phase the delivery of the steel frame to meet the requirements of each restaurant within a very tight program. Isobel Bowler Sports Pavilion, Sheffield – Structural design team lead responsible for delivering construction stage information for a £3.7m two-storey pavilion including a gym, fitness suite, club room and changing facilities for Sheffield City Council as part of the FA’s wider investment in grassroots football. The steel frame supports a precast concrete first floor slab and green roof and bears onto a concrete raft foundation which also forms the base of a 3.5m propped retaining wall. The retaining wall was designed and construction using Nudura polystyrene permanent formwork which significantly reduced the construction program.

Sheffield BSF, (Handsworth Grange School, High Storrs School, King Edward VII School, City School) – Responsible for delivering construction stage information for the superstructure and substructure of these school schemes as well as carrying out extensive analysis of existing listed buildings for internal structural modifications.
