  Stefan Ciupek has been at the forefront of digital cinematography since its inception.For two decades he worked as a digital cinematography supervisor, 2nd Unit dop and colorist with Europe´s most acclaimed filmmakers, helping them achieve their cinematic vision: Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire & 127 Hours), Lars Von Trier (Antichrist & Manderlay) , Alexander Sokurov (Russian Ark), Susanne Bier (After The Wedding), Thomas Vinterberg, Wim Wenders & The Brothers Quay, to name a few.In 2012 Stefan debuted as a Director of Photography with Lost in Siberia, a German/Russian roadmovie which garnered much praise by critics for its camera work and ran successfully in cinemas. Since then he has shot Posthumous (starring Jack Houston, Brit Marling) and In Embryo, a dark psychological drama with director Ulrich Thomsen (The International, Banshee). His most recent film is The Dark Side of the Moon, a gritty thriller starring Moritz Bleibtreu and Jürgen Prochnow. He just wrapped shooting his 4th American featurefilm The Super, a mystery thriller starring Val Kilmer and Patrick Flueger. It was directed by Stephan Rick.He also photographed several Art-films with renowned directors. His latest project “August” directed by Omer Fast will screen at the MoMA in New York.Stefan also conducts numerous cinematography Masterclasses and Workshops for the Berlinale Talent Campus, the European Film academy and Film Schools all across Europe.He won 1 Cinematography award and got Nominations for Best Cinematography at the Shanghai and Bejing International Filmfestivals. In his close collaboration with Anthony dod Mantle he also significantly contributed to the visual style of projects like Slumdog Millionaire (Oscar, BAFTA and ASC award for Best Cinematography) and Antichrist that won the European Film Award for Best Cinematography.
