I would like to recommend Stephanie Tavarez, co-leading our intern cohort with Jennifer Kiesel. Stephanie and Jennifer co-interviewed each intern, demonstrating immediately KPC’s investment in a strong and careful process in all their business dealings. Stephanie has a passion for enhancing diversity in the workplace and providing personal coaching that shone through in all our interactions. She served as lead on many of the projects I was assigned over the summer, providing the kind of insight on client needs that not only helps create great learning products, but inspired and motivated me to serve client needs. Her joy and sense of purpose was contagious in our daily interactions. She also worked through the day-to-day issues of time management with me, anticipating roadblocks and providing just-in-time direction on KPC’s business pace. Stephanie understands the value of relationship-building and communication tools in virtual teaming. When we worked together, she overcame challenges of working on a distributed team by picking up the phone and providing early and frequent support, yet she did not compromise my autonomy to get work done. She demonstrates a rare quality in management and collaboration by delivering frequent praise that is genuine and appropriate, building trust and engagement in our working relationship. Stephanie lives KPC’s culture of serving the internal customer and the external customer with long-term relationships in mind. I count myself as lucky to have been part of her first intern cohort. I highly recommend working for her and for KPC. Any student looking for a true learning internship that is both challenging and stimulating should have a positive experience on Stephanie’s team.
