I have worked on a team with Stanford, and worked alongside him while he did everything from single person projects to multi-year team projects. He was a pleasure to work with. All projects he was on he was able to get stuck in and provide value quickly. A "T shaped" developer he has is able to use his skills on multiple different technologies and learns quickly. I would work with Stanford again.

I was Technical Lead at this consultancy, working on a couple of Agile projects, one was leading a small team on an NHS project, using Oracle Cloud technologies, specifically Oracle Process Cloud, and Java. The other project was a UK government SaFE project working on a React front end framework. I was tech lead for a team and worked closely with other companies who were involved with the overall delivery of this huge project. The technologies included React, Docker, AWS, Concourse, and Storybook Show less

Having worked at EMA for a number of years, I have found my position evolving and changing over time. I joined as a Senior Java Developer, and was involved in various projects over the years, all of which were mostly Java based, and evolving from Java 5 to Java 8 progressively. EMA has also made progress in moving from monolith architecture to a more service orientated architecture to help improve its overall maturity as an organisation. In my time here, my roles evolved to include tasks as a Business Analyst interfacing with the end users, and Software Architect working with Bas and team members, and as a team leader, leading a small team of developers to deliver projects. My most recent projects have been to design, develop and deliver level 3 REST services developed with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring LDAP and Swagger. Previous projects have used tools such as Spring, AngularJS, java-script, Hibernate, Flex-builder, Jira plug-in development, Jira Workflow design and implementation, JSP, Struts, Spring MVC, action-script, JSON, XML, Agile, LDAP, HTML and Weblogic. I joined an existing Xoomworks team at their client Betfair as a Java Analyst Programmer to create a Webservice to a new third party Poker application for Betfairs online gambling website. This was done using Java, Struts, XML, JSP, and EJB’s running on a JBOSS application server, and an Oracle 9i database. Source control was done with Purforce and development done using Eclipse. IBM’s client BACS was redeveloping its Direct Debit Management systems, and I was taken on to complete Technical Designs, and developed some JSPs, Struts using Struts Workflow applications, to produce a complete technical design. This was a developer role, using Java, JSP, and Struts for J2EE architecture, running on a Oracle database. I developed using Tomcat 4.1 application server and Eclipse IDE along with Ant for all Java/JSP and JDBC work, and used Toad for stored procedures and queries to the Oracle 8i database. I enhanced one of their intranet systems to include more information appropriate to the way the company is now working. Some object orientated analysis and design was done, but a majority of that was completed prior to my arrival. I also developed a Swing reporting application, which was designed to read information from Microsoft Excel files and create PDF reports, then email them out to people after giving the user a chance to review the PDFs. This was a short contract working on helping to deliver the customer registration modules to the webportal for the mobile phone company O2. J2EE development was done with Eclipse IDE and Ant for Java, running on Weblogic 7.0 with an Oracle 8i database, developing objected orientated J2EE based applications, EJB’s and servlets. I also developed a system test harness using a gui Swing front end for the testing of the application which was done with the Cactus framework. I worked on the delivery of the call management and networking components for the 3G mobile telephone systems for ICN client Hutchinson3G now known as 3. This was all new development in Java and Oracle 8i/9i, running with Weblogic 6.1 on a Sun Solaris machine, which required me to oversee the installation and configuration of both Weblogic and Oracle 8i/9i on our development boxes. All Java development was done in JBuilder 7, Struts with Ant and I designed and engineered object orientated classes and session and entity EJB’s talking to TIBCO directly and via adaptors, servlets, Swing components. XML was also used in a lot of our configuration and data files so the design and implementation of those was part of my responsibility. I was also required to do database administration as well as physical database design. Show less

I contributed to the functional and technical specifications and the overall system design and direction, using Rational Rose and object orientsated design techniques to help design the database models and classes. I also installed and configured both Weblogic 6.1 and Tuxedo 8 and the administration of the Oracle 8i/9i databases, along with the development in JBuilder 6 of various session and entity EJBs within Weblogic and stand-alone java applications using JDBC to Oracle, for order processing system. Part of my remit was also the development of some C++ application to use ODBC to access the Oracle 8 database, and Java Server Pages to enable front end runtime configuration. I also wrote some PL/SQL/Java stored procedures to parse and manage XML documents. I also aided in the creation of some Business Objects configuration, universe creation and subsequent report generation. Show less

I was brought on here to help port some Uniface/Oracle Customer Profile and Address Correction, applications running on a mainframe, to Java/Oracle/Weblogic 6 running on a Sun Solaris server. The development was done in JDeveloper running on Windows 2000/NT, utilisizing all the latest Oracle tools, including the OracleXML suite. XML was used to store data extracted from the 8I database, and pass it to the applications. I was responsible for the overall design, but had to ensure that the new application maintained a familiar look and feel to the users. I was also involved in resolving some issues we had using MQ Series, so I gain a basic familiarity with this product. Show less

I joined this dot com to help development of the online equity system. Here I did Java programming using Visual Age integrated with Weblogic creating servlets and beans connecting to the database via JDBC, and also wrote various Oracle 8i database triggers and stored procedures. The servlets and java beans I developed created HTML pages and Javascript dynamically during the customers transactions. I also redeveloped the company’s content management system, using Java servlets, which generate XML data files,. Show less
