Intercompany Reconciliation analyst
-
Aug 2013 - Nov 2014
Intercompany reconciliation and financial reporting provides service to the Chief Group Account and Business Unit owners/ financial controllers of the entities and books. One of the major monthly deliverables is general ledger reconciliation based on the legal entity hierarchy and explaining arising mismatches following ledger closure. A dual reporting line meant double the demand for high quality and timely submission of the data and accurate justification of any arising differences. Given the scale and complexity of the organisation at the time, and the lack of transparency between finance teams world wide, it was a challenging and extremely rewarding undertaking to bring reporting back in line with the Group's standards. Fragmented process of reconciliation and reporting for several divisions migrated from Singapore hub in August 2013. I created a consistent approach and best practice implementation for reconciliation across divisions. I took ownership of quarterly and annual returns and became the go-to expert given the fact that there was no previous experience of the role within the Manchester site. I organised Q&A sessions with less experienced colleagues to prepare a smooth monthly reporting cycle. Following the financial closure of 2013 a strategic decision was made to incorporate this service with the existing operations hub in India. Prior to my exit date I finalised all reporting documentation and assisted fellow Indian colleagues in training and acclimatisation for the roles. I have achieved exceptional feedback for my work from senior financial and product controllers as well as from GCA's office.

SPV Support Analyst
-
Aug 2010 - Aug 2013
SPV Support is a settlements team for securitisation and term business of RBS. During my time with this team I have successfully mastered five individual product settlement processes, acquired knowledge of sophisticated fixed income products and front-to-back trade lifecycle. Daily responsibilities in one of the roles involved close interaction with various Middle Offices, the Finance team and senior management as well as external counterparties; ensuring funding for the company accounts is complete and accurate. I investigate and resolve all discrepancies between system source data and final postings to the ledger. Other features of my job included administration and management of the accounts and performing external and internal liability payments in timely manner, ensuring bookings are reflected and posted correctly on the P&L, understanding and analysing of risk and cost across operations and maintaining a robust control environment.
