Despite Stacy being based in New Zealand and myself being based in Canada, Stacy and I worked together on a number of management and process related issues. Upon arriving at Curve I was very impressed with the evidence of Stacy's work on two fronts. Firstly the web application he was responsible for designing was truly groundbreaking in both its artistic merit as well as the attention to detail such as consideration for its usability. The web app has been described as provoking an "emotional" response when presented to potential clients who are accustomed to traditional client / server applications being used to manage their dental practice. Stacy's previous experience as a dentist as well as his talent for design placed him in the unique position of having specialist subject knowledge during business analysis as well as a keen awareness of what was needed by the users in terms of look and feel. Secondly, Stacy's attention to detail and dedication to always doing the right thing lead him to spearhead the creation of a lightweight yet fully functional product development process which brought an uncharacteristic order to the typical chaos of an internet startup. The creation of the product development process enhanced communication, accuracy and the overall quality of designs and code being released into production. On a personal level Stacy is the kind of leader who takes the time and trouble to introduce himself to new employees in any department and is a great advocate for those in his own.
