Working as Communications Specialist I manage all communications out to the dealer network from the Henry Ford Academy, Fords training provider to the UK. As well as managing event comms, news, magazine articles and training promotion, I also manage all of the HFA social media channels ensuring these are up to date with information and widening the reach to dealer employees. I work with Internal systems as well as manage the Dealer Portal, keeping this up to date with all relevant docs and have attending training for use with the Adobe Cloud suite. I spend weeks of the year at events for the Training Academy, managing social media as well as phtography. Organisiation, time keeping, prioritising and flexibity and all key within this role.

    • Administrative Assistant
      • Oct 2013 - Sep 2015

This position was incredibly varied and no 2 days are the same. From liaising with parents to booking and planning trips, the role requires an extreme amount of organisation as well the ability to multitask to an exceptionally high level. Although an administrative title I was also able to help out with pupils and use previous experience to ensure that the school is a better place to be in. I organise all lunches for the pupils, working within excel to produce formulated sheets and organise these calculating totals each week. I also manage the calendar and events for the head and deputies and provide excellent customer service to all parents and visitors. Alongside this role I am also a clerk to the governors. I co-ordinate all meetings as well as taking minutes liaising with all senior leadership and using the OneDrive for documentation.

The role was focused on running a busy office on a day to day basis. As this was a police station office there are also other tasks required, as and when they arose, such as helping with statements, responding to calls and handling sensitive information dealt with on the railways. The main day to day tasks included answering calls, placing stock orders and sorting out maintenance for the site. I also managed 2 other locations and often travel to these sites to ensure that everything was running effectively. Liaising with many other departments such as HR, media and marketing was vital to ensure all of our correspondence was correct. I handled all uniform requests, took meeting notes, booked travel arrangements and prioritised events for the officers. Time keeping was essential as well as flexibility and the ability to work well within a team and under a pressured environment. Using excellent customer service skills I dealt with many 3rd party queries and being up to date on relevant laws and using data protection was essential.

This position was a progression from a previous role within the company. PGL is an outdoor education activity centre and my role was to ensure guests and staff members were well taken care of, before their arrival and during their time at the centre. With up to 1000 people on site at one time it was my duty to organise and accommodate all groups on site. Using past knowledge as a group leader and instructor, I was able to plan activities and events that would run over the course of the stay. To know that everyone had enjoyed the stay was a great compliment. Within the last year of this role I took on a more senior position and was able to gain excellent organisational skills as well as managerial skills, taking on more responsibility in leading, training and line managing staff. This also included working as a work experience coordinator, where I managed up to 17 students at one time doing a placement within the company I planned each individual activity as well as facilitating the work they must achieve whilst on a 2 week placement. This experience has been invaluable to me and each pupil thoroughly enjoyed their time. As well as administrational work it also included creating welcome packs, taking meeting notes, programming activities, calls to schools and reception cover. I also organised staff events to bring teams closer together. This involves liaising with the retail team and ensuring that each event is creative and within budget.
