As practice manager, I facilitate all the daily duties in the hospital. As well as monitor, encourage, support, hire and fire staff, head staff/team meetings, monitor the hospital's website, facebook page, and the online store. I also control and manage the inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, manage bank accounts and QuickBooks, marketing, maintain and invent protocols and troubleshoot any problems. As veterinary technician, I obtain vitals and patient history, inpatient and outpatient work, venipuncture, IV catheterization, administer medications by several different routes, run labwork in-house (fecals, urinalysis, presurgical testing, heartworm testing, skin scrapes, ear smears, etc) and grooming (medically necessary). I also assist in surgery, administer all premedications, prep patients for surgery, monitor patients under anesthesia, assemble and sanitize surgical packs, and recover patients. I also perform dental prophys from start to finish.
