  Responsible for forming a client construction team of Construction Managers and Field Engineers (25+ reports) and management of enabling works delivery. Successfully planned, managed and delivered multiple large-scale installation closures consisting of crucial programme activities in short timescales throughout Circle Line Central Corridor. Responsible for implementation and approved use of Road Rail Vehicles (RRVs) to facilitate working at height in tunnel sections, successfully delivering the first mechanically assisted installation on 4LM. Day to day management of contractor’s construction quality, safety and compliance to CDM Regulations.Seconded by the contractor to form and nurture a sub-system installation organisation of 6+ teams delivering the first in type installations of the Data Communications System (WIFI Signaling) in initial migration areas. Introducing supervisory management and site supervision. Discovered and implemented multiple design and installation efficiencies to accelerate the programme and recover delay.

Provided a collaborative working approach and a fair and consistent interface across the delivery team in a multi-disciplined and multi-stakeholder environment. Administration of the contract, raising early warning notices, organising and chairing risk reduction meetings and issuing project management instructions and communications to the subcontractor.Created and successfully agreed large value business cases (£1m+) for important scope changes necessary for the benefit of the project and the operational railway as a whole

Successfully delivered all track works on budget and to time, achieving the speed and number of trains per hour increase on the Northern Line. Created cost estimates, tendered for works and procured contractor services, plant and materials on a regular basis.

• Temporary Works Engineering Manager (Civil/Structural Engineer)

  Occupied critical assurance engineer role checking and maintaining temporary works and crane approval safety assurance across the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines for all construction activities. No safety critical incidents encountered throughout the tenure. Single point of contact and sole interface for all third-party works affecting London Underground infrastructure including high profile projects such as The Shard, Olympic Park Stratford and London Bridge upgrade works. Drafted and obtained stakeholder approval for new company policies, standards and process which I rolled out to ensure compliant implementation of temporary works management across the business. These are still utilized company-wide today.

  Project Manager: Piccadilly Line Scrap Removal (Nov ’10 - May ’11) £0.5m budget to remove scrap rail from the Piccadilly Line. Activities included sourcing, procuring and managing sub-contractor labour suppliers. Working with complex logistical railway access availability, including planning and booking of engineering trains/cranes and road rail vehicles. Achieved full budget recovery through rail/steel recycling to outside suppliers. Contract Manager: Mechanical & Electrical Asset Maintenance ‘E&M’ (Aug ‘10 – Oct ’10) Accountable management of Tube Lines’ primary E&M contractor and their deliverables. Initiated and drove improvements with the contractor to establish efficient and cost effective asset management practices. Reviewed and improved asset maintenance lifecycles, whole life costing and developed strategies for improved management of assets. Lead Design Engineer: Piccadilly Line Control Centre (Jun ‘09 – July’10) Acting Lead Design Engineer / Project Manager at inception of project concept phase. Delivery of all survey and feasibility aspects including geotechnical, topographical and UXO surveys etc. Detailed reinforced concrete and structural steelwork design to blast loading conditions including dynamic design of elements. Junior Civil & Structural Engineer: Green Park Step Free Access Upgrade (Mar ‘09 – Jun ’09) Structural design of temporary works including hoarding and staircases for step free access works. Temporary works site inspector appointed during the construction stage. Junior Civil & Structural Engineer: Lifts, Escalators & Assessments (Sep ‘08 – Mar ’09) Inspection, structural analysis and condition assessment of escalator trusses, tunnels, bridges and earth retaining structures.
