• Developed Specsolve (C++, MPI), a massively parallel spectral element solver for simulating incompressible turbulent flows in complex domains• Deployed code on leadership class supercomputers MIRA (ALCF), Kraken (NICS), Gordon (SDSC) and Stampede (TACC)• Developed proposals and secured supercomputing time on MIRA, Kraken, Gordon and Stampede supercomputers through start-up allocations from XSEDE and ALCF• The largest simulation run, thus far, involved 16,386 processors on MIRA supercomputer at ALCF• Identified important flow structures in model urban street canyon flows using spatial and temporal flow information obtained from high fidelity CFD simulations performed using Specsolve and Nek5000 • Implemented Scale-invariant Lagrangian dynamic LES model for modeling turbulent channel flow in an open source spectral element solver Nek5000• Worked on real-time prediction of 3D turbulent velocity fields based on a small number of scalar measurements using a combination of POD, state-space RBF (Radial Basis Function) models, regularized regression techniques and unscented Kalman filters• Analyzed large data sets generated by CFD simulations with focus on identifying key flow structures Show less
