Project's name: Study on FPGA-Based Bioinformatics Acceleration using HLS My project used High-Level Synthesis (HLS) to deploy an algorithm on FPGA based on DNA sequence Alignment and Searching. DNA sequence alignment or short read genome mapping is one of the crucial applications that is an algorithm to locate a short read of DNA on the whole genome, and DNA searching is used for finding all positions of short DNA across the entire genome. Both DNA alignment and DNA searching use the Smith-Waterman algorithm to compute. This project was developed on ZCU 104 board. Furthermore, this project also compared the speed of FPGA and CPU on both DNA sequence alignment and DNA searching functions Show less
