Engineering Responsibilities: • Work as part of team to develop architectural and design standards for highly automated and supportable, Internet core network, FWA and GPON based FttP access architectures. • Create the network design documentation and implement the designs. • Support growth and evolution of the network. • Evaluate and/or develop technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the network design process. • Evaluate and test new technologies/tools and monitor evolving technologies (PON) for possible introduction into the network. • Integrate new systems and diverse technologies. • Evolve and grow the network. Operational Responsibilities: • Work as part of team for operational support of the network including both proactive monitoring and management using scripts and other OSS tools and reactive support including network troubleshooting and root cause analysis. • Develop and continuously improve network operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through automation and optimization of the network architecture and operational processes. • As the specialist develops the appropriate skills and knowledge, they will participate in on-call network support rotation. • Work as part of team to test, schedule and implement software upgrades required to network devices to address bugs or enable new features. • Monitor, support and augment multiple networks across disparate technologies. • Work rotating on-call shifts to support multiple timezones.
