These were introduced in the syllabus reformulation of 2011. As Departmental Head between the years 2011--2012, I invited well known faculty like Professor Ananda Lal and to speak on Osborne's Look Back in Anger and Professor Sumita Chakravarty, to participate in a symposium on Tagore's text. Other invited members, were faculty from the Department of Bengali. I moderated the entire discussion. In addition, creating question papers for English Honours, Part I, II and III examinations, grading answer scripts, and teaching an average of 20 classes per week. I also remain engaged in writing and researching the 19th century Bengal Renaissance, with special focus on women writers. I am interested in the dialogic interfaces of the many texts and cultural modes of 19th and early 20th century Bengali urban and rural life.
