As the CFO in this very innovative and entrepreneurial organization comprised of a number of commercial business units (including two retail stores, art rental and sales, a hospitality unit, and the local film festival), responsible for all aspects of the Gallery's financial, information technology and human resources activities: • Revised the financial reporting and forecasting processes to better support the various lines of business with a 50% reduction in days to close month-end • Established a new integrated budgeting process, monitored business unit progress towards achieving annual financial targets and developed corrective actions to mitigate projected shortfalls exceeding 6% of annual expenses • Developed the business case, negotiated contracts and acted as project manager for a new integrated financial reporting, retail and customer information system that will save almost 2 full time equivalent staff positions • Replaced the Gallery's telephone system and upgraded the server and infrastructure to the latest generation of equipment and software with no significant impact on staff or system downtime • Managed the year-end financial audit with no significant findings from the external auditor • Ongoing supervision of investments and endowments to maximize returns within an acceptable risk profile • Established effective relationships with the Board of Directors, Finance and Audit committees • Developed a new annual and mid-year performance review process for all staff at AGH
