After going through issues with expired certs for our Splunk environment, I stumbled upon Michael's Splunk SSL Certificate Checker add-on. It helped U.S. CBP in monitoring our SSL certs. His add-on was also very easy to configure and took no time to finish the config. Even better was that it came with a dashboard that can be used to monitor your certs expiration date - this made it easy to modify the search to alert you on any certs that will expire within X days.
