Salt Lake City, UT I worked on brain-machine interfaces using microelectrocorticographic electrodes -- very fine electrodes that sit on top of the cortex and measure electric potentials generated by the brain. I used these signals to decode arm and hand movements and speech. I also worked with colleagues in my lab to modify HDL for a low-power pipelined microcontroller, and synthesize and tapeout in 65nm CMOS technology.
