As the radio play-by-play voice of the New York Islanders since 2010, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Spencer Davidson on 88.7 FM, WRHU, Radio Hofstra University. Spencer eagerly took on many different roles throughout the past 3 years, including update provider, feature producer and broadcast engineer. Although each position required a very different set of skills, Spencer seamlessly moved between each of these jobs on a game-by-game basis. Spencer was very receptive to my advice on how to improve as a broadcaster, and would always quickly incorporate any suggestions that I had passed along. He was always willing to do whatever was necessary to make our radio broadcast as good as it could be, often putting in many hours behind the scenes to make sure things ran smoothly on the night of the game.
