Conducted a parametric optimization of outer flap angle of an aircraft wing. Simulations were conducted on NACA A2412 airfoil, by varying the outer flap angle, at a constant low angle of attack and inner flap angle. This optimization will allow to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the aircraft wings, which are critical especially during take off and landing of an aircraft. When the airplane is taking off, the flaps help to produce more lift. Conversely, flaps allow for a steep but controllable angle during landing. During both, efficient use of flaps helps to shorten the amount of runway length needed for takeoff and landing. Show less
