The Children's Society fights for the hope and happiness of young people when it's threatened by abuse, exploitation and neglect. As Public Engagement Manager, I was responsible for growing and nurturing TCS's supporter base, working with multidisciplinary teams to build an integrated approach. EXPERIENCE Created and oversaw public engagement plans, acting up for a year due to a vacancy at a senior level. Gained stakeholder buy-in and identified opportunities for cross-organisational alignment, ensuring integration at key moments to communicate TCS's brand purpose. Worked collaboratively with creative agency Don’t Panic to develop a new fundraising proposition. Distilled insights about the complex issues faced by at-risk young people into a compelling public-facing message. The proposition received a positive response in live testing. Improved conversion rate of customer journey across paid social, email and telemarketing, achieving a profitable ROAS. Optimised landing pages, messaging and audience targeting to focus on repeat action and loyalty. Instrumental in influencing the development of storytelling principles, advocating for an approach which improved the equitability of our work with service users. Commissioned and oversaw qualitative and quantitative audience insight projects to inform creative or campaign strategies, including focus groups, market research and competitor analysis. Resolved complex challenges related to e-commerce product, Give Hope, creating an unrestricted income stream. Brought together internal stakeholders to develop new processes for monitoring and administration of funds. Forecast annual expenditure and income, managing and reporting on several complex budgets. Lined managed two officers, supporting their personal development through a coaching approach. Developed reporting and evaluation processes, working with data and insight teams to map data flows and develop a dashboard which measured holistic campaign performance. Show less

Shelter exists to defend the right to a safe home. Because home is everything. In my time at Shelter, I managed high impact, integrated campaigns, including the Emergency COVID-19 Appeal and Christmas Campaign. I also supported the growth of the Weekly Lottery, a newly launched product, establishing ways of working and processes to support its development. EXPERIENCE Project managed Shelter’s largest annual support acquisition campaign, the Christmas appeal. Briefed and oversaw the development of the creative proposition and key messaging, which needed to iterate across each fundraising team. Co-ordinated multidisciplinary internal and external experts to create integrated approach across paid, owned and earned channels, ensuring launch happened on time and budget. The campaign exceeded its ambitious targets. Commissioned and developed stories, working alongside case studies team, frontline staff and service users to tell stories in a way that was safe, equitable and empathetic, as well as high impact. Gained buy-in from key stakeholders for the Weekly Lottery through a tailored internal communications approach, sharing information and updates in a range of ways. This helped to establish a path for future growth. Contributed significantly to the COVID-19 emergency appeal across paid social, YouTube, TV and print. Worked at pace and successfully collaborated to build audience strategy, develop assets, find relevant case studies and gain expediated sign-off. This campaign was highly successful, helping to make up for lost income due to the pandemic. Supported an innovative culture, advocating for new approaches aligned to a campaign’s objectives, such as testing weather-based advertising, and openly sharing results and learnings. Show less
