Reporting to the CEO, I am the Head of the Engineering team at Vamp. My responsibilities include bringing consistency across the development team and to drive the team forward as we transform. Some of the technical initiatives I have driven include: - automating the deployments of our web app (React) and mobile application (React Native) reducing the time to deploy our platform from a day to 30 minutes. - introducing automated testing to our front end applications, with test coverage of our React web app improving from 0% to 51% and our mobile application from 0% to 23% - automation of our regression test suite with the use of Cypress (currently at 50% automated), reducing manual testing time from a day to 2 hours. I also have a strong focus on team engagement and productivity. Key projects included: - transitioning the team from 2 siloed front-end and back-end teams to a full stack way of working which required both a cultural change and technical coaching - creating the Engineering New Starter Guide from scratch, including creating the technical induction, to improve the onboarding experience and reduce pressure on existing team members. - designing the engineering recruitment process from scratch, including writing the technical and behavioural interview questions, the technical test and the evaluation criteria. - creating a culture of professional development across the whole Product team by expanding the 'Elixir Guild' I had started as the back end lead to be just 'The Guild' and covering topics across all of product: backend, frontend, data and design. I am also passionate about giving back to the IT community and have spoke to classes at Coder Academy and General Assembly. I have also participated in panels on the topic of women in technology.
