Planned and co-lead month long leadership development and counselor-in-training program for 16 and 17 year old girls, many of whom were at risk youth. Program focused on personal development, finessing leadership skills, conflict management, and activity program planning. Led wilderness camping trips: o Five-day and Ten-day canoe trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (MN) o Four-day hiking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail Planned and led 13-day long programs for children ages 7-17: o Wilderness exploration program: helped youth experience & observe natural places and learn basic concepts in biology and ecology o Drama: increased creative abilities, speaking skills, and basic acting/stage vocabulary and skills o Canoeing: developed technical skills, team work, basic camping and map reading skills o Swimming: games, teamwork, and swim lessons o Ropes: facilitated low and high challenge-course systems Cabin Counselor Personal development and support, building healthy cabin communities in groups of ten kids ages 11-17 Kitchen Assistant: Cooked and food preparation for 200 people Camp Store Manager, responsible for stocking and selling camp merchandise 2011 and 2013 Show less
