Sophie is such a joy to work with. Over the past 12 months, as our industry was impacted by COVID perhaps more than any other and we battled a talent shortage, Sophie kept finding brilliant candidates for us. She understood the importance of cultural fit, challenged our thinking at times and never let us down. Thank you for all the great colleagues you’ve helped us find.

Sophie is one of the best recruiters I've worked with in my 20+ year marketing communications career - warm, engaging, professional and understanding with high level emotional intelligence. I was interviewed and offered a contract role within a matter of days after listing with Hope and Glory. While extenuating circumstances prevented me from taking up the contract role I was successfully engaged for - Sophie would be my first choice if job hunting again or if recruiting for high calibre marketing, media and communications professionals.

With full responsibility for developing Fed Square's commercial strategy across sponsorships, venue hire, marketing assets and client-led event creation, this was a newly created position for Fed Square.Project highlights include:- Samsung Galaxy Studio: Samsung Australia launched their largest outdoor build in the Southern Hemisphere in the Amphitheatre at Fed Square for 6 weeks late 2017 to launch the new Note8, selecting Fed Square over a number of Melbourne CBD sites. This impressive experiential structure offered visitors the opportunity to try an array of Samsung products. Supported by extensive use of marketing assets such as decals, poster boxes and cylinder advertising, this was the largest ever activation in 15 years of Fed Square, providing a tremendous revenue and visitation boost to the site.- Mastercard Australia partnership: A first with this client, providing venue space for an activation on Boxing Day (the "Barbie Army") on the River Terrace + big screen advertising + on site balustrade advterising + wifi spash page sponsorship for the key Boxing Day Test dates.- Channel Seven: The Channel 7 Tennis Live Site - 15-28 January 2018. Acquisition of the exclusive sponsorship of the Australian Open viewing site in the Fed Square Amphitheatre space. This project included Ch7 activation presence via customised shipping containers promoting MKR and Home & Away on the Swanston St Forecourt + branding and PR throughout the Live Site. A hugely successful activation in both spaces.- UnionPay International: The Arboria Luminarium, Fed Square's largest independently run event in January 2018 - sponsored by UnionPay. This was another first for UnionPay as only its second local Melbourne event sponsorship. This partnership saw an increase in UnionPay merchants across Fed Square + extended brand presence on signage, social media, big screen and digital assets during the 23 day Arboria activation. UnionPay joined our major Partner Siemens as well as Jaguar.

As Head of Corporate & Promotional Sales (and previously, Corporate & Promotional Sales Manager) within the Business Development Department of Penguin Random House Australia – the largest book publisher in the country - it was my responsibility (from 2005) to develop the Corporate and Special Sales division from it’s’ infancy. I developed and strengthened corporate relationships, securing significant deals and managing a team of Account Managers and support staff to reach revenue targets.Penguin's Corporate and Promotional Sales department sells books for gift with purchase and other marketing/promotional campaigns. Books were supplied from stock or customised them with corporate logos, personalised content and format changes of all types to suit customer needs. We put books in Happy Meals for McDonald’s, produced mini cookbooks for News Limited promotions across the country, customised children's books for in-pack FMCG client campaigns and provided content for the Uncle Tobys Oats Challenge and Huggies websites - to name just a few examples.
