Administrator and Events Assistant responsible for the preparation and coordination of Trust events, including: weddings, fundraisers, corporate and private events. I provided administrative assistance to the Events Team and Estate Office by handling enquiries from prospective clients and visitors to the gardens, via email, telephone and in person. I was responsible for the main events email inbox and conducted regular site visits with potential clients and suppliers. A key aspect of my role was to coordinate the set-up and break down of events in accordance with CHGT procedures and standards. I also ensured the smooth and efficient delivery of all events by maintaining internal relations and regularly liaising with the Head Gardener, Security Warden and English Heritage. Management of event paperwork was key and included: function sheets, contract letters and booking agreements. All suppliers prior to each event were contacted to explain the heritage nature of the site and importance of protecting both the Grade 1 listed House & surrounding Gardens. At the end of the 2016 season in late September I had organised and led 27 weddings, a charity gala and a number of smaller private events and cricket matches.

Working as an administrator and events assistant, I assisted programme managers with the preparation and delivery of Institute short courses. My core responsibilities were to process online and paper booking forms, ensuring that each booking was filed and added to financial records. Similarly all course expenditure was recorded for review by the department. I arranged room bookings, IT support for lectures and refreshments for course lunches and receptions. I reviewed and updated course materials to include recent developments in the field. I was charged with compiling course materials, most notably participant handbooks, nametags and completion certificates. I supported the course managers and coordinators for the duration of each course, thereby helping to ensure the smooth running of each lecture, reception and workshop. I welcomed course participants and guest speakers and guided them through to the lecture rooms. Over the course of the internship I assisted with a cross-section of course types, including: evening courses, art fair courses, study days and the intensive executive education programme.
