Policy Advisor
-
Jul 2022 - Present
I work as a policy advisor in the Agenda 2030 project, accompanying multilateral processes like the High-Level Political Forum at the United Nations in July and the SDG Summit in September 2023. Our primary focus lies in amplifying the voices of civil society and advocating for the reduction of inequalities. Furthermore,I am responsible for the field of international climate policy at VENRO. I coordinate the working group on climate change and development. Our activties encompass areas such as addressing loss and damage, climate finance, and climate-induced migration. Previously, I coordinated the Civil7 project, which accompanied the German G7 presidency. In collaboration with a global network, we brought recommendations to the G7 negotiations and advocated for global justice and sustainability policies. In particular, we brought in civil society from those countries that are not represented by the exclusive club of the G7. I coordinated advocacy activities in the context of the G7, implemented workshops and panels on global politics, and conducted an evaluation study of the German G7 Presidency from the perspective of global civil society. Scientific Dive Master & Reef Monitoring
-
Feb 2022 - Apr 2022
In addition to my professional Dive Master training, I was trained in marine biology and ecology. I learned to identify and monitor the fish, corals, benthos and megafauna of the Caribbean to collect and analyze data about the health of the coral reef. These studies help identify ways to balance the expansion of coastal villages with the conservation of the region's natural heritage. The training is based on AGRRA methods, which are widely used in the Caribbean. The Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment is an international collaboration of scientists, managers and supporters with the goal of improving the regional condition of reefs in the western Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Program Manager in Education for Sustainable Development
-
Jun 2019 - Dec 2021
The Development Policy Program (Entwicklungspolitisches Basisprogramm) promotes civil society working in the field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Germany. The program focusses on smaller NGOs and initiatives based all over Germany and working on a wide range of topics. It provides them with the resources to address the current global challenges in all their complexity and to be a strong voice within the field of development actors and policy makers. As a program manager I create formats for exchange, networking and debate and facilitate communication on political processes and debates on Sustainable Development. I manage the collaboration of eight thematic expert forums and mediate between the local and the national level within our vast network of about 10.000 organizations and initiatives. Show less
