Casual work - evenings and weekends alongside my full time job Travel all over the city to spread plenty of Capital love, interacting with the public, telling them all about our brand and encouraging them to tune in. A typical shift will involve attending lifestyle events, handing out Capital marketing materials, and taking pictures of our listeners – however it does differ depending on what’s going on at the station at that present time! My role here would go from looking after a table of children at meal times to entertaining at the flagpole or singing around a camp fire. I was also taking part in many activities – a flexible ‘have-a-go’ attitude was essential. On a typical day I’d find myself skipping from tennis, to archery, to swimming etc. I was on duty 24/7 – Counsellors take on the role of sleeping in the same housing area as the campers and supervise them through the night. I was responsible for 12-13 year old girls. As this was a Jewish camp, I was living in a kosher environment which was a change from my life style at home. I feel that this experience changed me as an individual – I came back more mature, independent and confident. It gave me a better understanding and outlook of the world and religion. It was an experience of a lifetime. Show less
