Sophia spent a year working for me as our first PR Intern whilst studying at Liverpool University and whilst not only outstanding in all her duties linked to this PR role, Sophia provided high quality support for colleagues in the Marketing Department too. Sophia's hardworking, can-do, yet friendly and caring attitude meant that she became an immediate hit with all her colleagues and we were all sad when she completed her internship and returned to her academic studies. During her time with us Sophia gained invaluable experience in dealing with press and media both face to face and on-line dealing with a variety of reactive and proactive PR issues and stories relating to the Airport. She also revamped our Airport employee newsletter helping to encourage more staff across all parts of the business to contribute towards the content. Sophia's written and communicative skills were also a tremendous asset that helped her achieve all that was asked of her and more and will be undoubtedly be put to good use as she pursues her future career.

• My main roles were to produce internal communications including staff newsletters, staff intranet and the quarterly employee magazine while also providing the Head of Public Relations with administrative support including organising meetings and many other admin duties. • I also prepared community and corporate events, engaging with both the general public and stakeholders including local authorities and trusts. • I worked to tight deadlines while ensuring that my written editorial was to the highest possible standard. • I worked closely with the Marketing Team, giving them support through making digital orders, producing and scheduling social media content for the airport channels. • I managed general enquiries from press and managed press visits to the airport for occasions such as the Champions League flights which required a large amount of preparation and efficiency. In addition to this, I gained experience in crisis communication with many occasions being the lead spokesperson of the airport. • I assisted in drafting and disseminating press releases on a regular basis, complying with GDPR laws. In this role I was able to work independently and was given a lot of responsibility, but also received guidance from my manager and enjoyed working in an ambitious communications team.
